Verified Material Information
Every listing must clear the CPRs 2008 + NTSELAT Part A disclosure bar. Council tax band, tenure, ground rent, service charge, EPC, flood risk, asking-price method, sale-method — confirmed at ingest, surfaced on the listing, missing fields flagged in red rather than hidden.
Search the way you actually think
"3-bed semi in Penarth under £400k with off-road parking and a south-facing garden" parses into structured filters and returns the right homes. No clicking through ten dropdowns. AI translates intent, the database does the search.
Agency accountability
Every agency gets a public scorecard. Response time, Material Info completeness, review score, redress-scheme membership. Quick Responders ranked higher. Repeat offenders downranked. Agency profiles are pages, not contact forms.

Cartref is operated by Blue Dog Digital — a sole trader in South Wales, not a Rightmove-scale corporate entity. We move fast, ship the right thing, and ignore the chase for SEO ad dollars that's hollowed out the incumbents.

Built by Kyle Marham.
Kyle is a senior software engineer based in South Wales. By day he ships e-commerce systems at a Cardiff-based agency for some of the UK's busiest brands. By night, he builds tools he wished existed — Cartref is one of them.
He's bought, sold, and rented homes through every major UK portal. The frustration: listings feel like they're designed for SEO and agent lead-gen, not for the people actually trying to find a home. Search is shallow, the data is inconsistent, and the agencies who behave worst face zero accountability.

What Cartref won't do
A clear set of nevers.
- · We won't sell your enquiry data to mortgage brokers, conveyancers, or removal firms. Your enquiry goes to the agency. Full stop.
- · We won't run agency-paid promoted listings that look like organic results. Promotion, if it exists, will be visually distinct.
- · We won't strip agencies of their branding. The agency profile, branch, photos, and copy stay theirs.
- · We won't bait Material Information into upsells. Verified disclosure is free, for every listing, for every user.
- · We won't pretend the portal is everywhere when it's only South Wales (today). Coverage map is honest.
